About Us

We are third class students in St. Joseph's National School. We love science and wanted to create a website to show off all of our experiments and to teach others how to do them.

We have applied for the Discover Primary Science award of excellence in Maths and Science and we have used the website to collate all the work we have done. It helps us remember all the experiments we have done throughout the year. It also means we get to share them with other classes in the school and in the wider community.

We took part in Engineers Week and loved learning about all the things engineers do. Some of us even want to be engineers when we grow up after experimenting during this week.

We worked with some other classes in the school and presented our experiments. One of the projects was “design and make a house”. We each had a partner in Senior Infants and worked with them to help them to create their house. We used lots of recycled materials. We planned and designed the houses with our Senior Infant buddy and used these plans to construct the house.   While we were conducting experiments we often tweeted about them.  After each experiment we all posted on our blogs using kidblog.org.  We used these posts to create a step by step guide of how to conduct the experiments. We also shared some tips we discovered along the way and our how to achieve the best results. We shared it with our teacher using google drive. We took lots of pictures and also stored them on google drive. We chose wix.com to build our website because it was bright and colourful and had lots of features that we liked.
