Clean & Dirty Hands

We did a science experiment about clean/dirty hands and mouldy bread.

There were three slices of bread. One was control. The second one was clean hands. The last one was dirty hands.

The control was taken from the sliced pan and placed in a sandwich bag immediately.

The other two slices were handled for 30 seconds before being put in the sandwich bags.

It took about 6 or 7 days for the first bit of mould to grow.

It was dirty hands that got the first bit of mould. It was clean hands that got the second bit of mold. It was control that got the last bit of mold.

Dirty hands got the first bit of mould because it had the most germs on it.

The clean hands got the second bit of mould because there is still a bit of germs on the clean hands and because it was still handled a lot.

The control had the least amount of germs because it wasn't handled at all and grew the least mould as it had no germs from our hands.

I was dirty hands. It was very fun!
