Our Buddies in Senior Infants were learning about houses. We decided to help them construct their own house using recyclable materials. We used old cereal boxes and shoe boxes.

The first thing we did was plan the house on a piece of paper. We drew what the house would look like and the colours we would use.

Then we cut out the door and windows from the cardboard.

We got coloured pieces of paper and glued them onto the outside of the house and some people painted the outside.

We used old toilet rolls and cardboard to make a chimney.

People made furniture using cardboard and sellotape.

Some had some flat roofs and some had pointed roofs.

Some people had bungalows and some had two or three stories.

One of our buddies wanted to be waving out the window so we drew him!

We had multi coloured houses.

As well as building the houses we made gardens and driveways. We put sheds in the gardens and cars in the driveways. Some of our gardens had trees, ponds and swings.
